I saw Never Let Me Go recently and I think I needed an outlet to really mourn over how sad that movie really is. Voila? Joking. I'm just finding excuses to justify how the following look happened. I really don't know what inspired me to come up with this. Anyway, the lid is smoked out reds with a navy wing paired with blood red, brownish lips. In the words of a dear friend of mine, this is what a hot witch would look like.

Well, maybe just jelly time. It has been much too long since I have posted on here. Apologies! I have a nail swatch for you guys today! It's Guy Meets Gal-Veston from OPI's Texas Spring 2011 Collection. It's my perfect summer color. At first I hated it with a passion because the formula is SO sheer. But my love for the color made me do some research (aka go to Scrangie) and to my pleasant surprise found that the formula is supposed to be sheer. Guy Meets Gal-Veston is one of the "jelly" or "sorbet" finishes in the collection and it takes three coats to take it to an opaque level. I'm used to polishes needing just two coats so I was pretty frustrated, but the tomato red meets neon watermelon in my opinion is worth the extra effort. The wear on this is also amazing, because the picture below was taken at least 4 days after application without a topcoat! Needless to say, I'm impressed.
I gotta know...does anyone else experience the following dilemma or am I the only lucky one out there?Buxom gel liner: love at first sight because it supposingly nourishes your lashes as well. Totally my kind of product, so I bought it and it was amazing for the first half of usage I got out of it. But NOW, it makes me lose the will to even apply liner in the morning because when I curl my lashes after I apply the liner, it lifts off my eye and goes all goldleaf on my eyelash curler. Like a moth to a flaaaame. It drives me crazy. So I end up having to reapply the liner inbetween my lashes. That's a royal pain in the ass. "OH Louanne, why don't you just set your liner and wait a while for it to dry." Trust me, I've tried that and it STILL lifts off. Now I'm stuck "priming" my liner with a pencil liner, then applying the gel liner, and finally setting it. How annoying? SO annoying. Rant done.
Today's look is a vampy ish evening look, although anyone who can rock this as a daytime look has my permission haha. The eyes are smoked out with greys and purples, nothing too crazy. Originally I had paired the eyes with a pale lip but how many smokey eye/pale lip combos do we see done over and over? Too many. So I swapped in a berry lip instead. Go big or go home right?
So today's look was inspired by my complete readiness for spring to come. It snowed like crazy and I was not impressed in the slightest. The eyes are a concoction of pastels with an olive green wing. Contoured glowy cheeks and a highlighted lip finish the look :)
Since every beauty guru out there has come up with a holiday/festive look, I figured it was only a matter of time before I did one haha. It's a gold and purple lid with candy cane red lips. Simple and sweet :)
